If you have just been charged with a criminal offense you are probably feeling angry, confused or even fearful about what has happened to you. The process of being arrested, taken to jail, fingerprinted and photographed can be humiliating. For some, you may be faced with charges that could have serious consequences; you could be fined or possibly spend time in jail. We here at Bottner & Skillman, Attorneys at Law, understand and sympathize with you.
However, there may be hope and a good chance we can help. Did you know there are many different legal challenges that can be made to the charges you are facing? We would raise each of these challenges to make your case as strong as possible. Our goal is to get the charges dropped, keep your record clean and prevent any loss of your freedom. At the very least, I would make sure that you are treated fairly.
We cannot promise you that we will be successful because each situation is unique. Maybe the Judge assigned to your case is more lenient on individuals wanting a trial, or maybe he/she is harsher. However, all things being equal, we think you will find that our attorneys and staff are well skilled and that we will fiercely protect your rights.
Like most, when being arrested for a criminal offense, folks are unsure of the right thing to do, the next step. We would like to meet with you, please contact our office to schedule a consultation, by emailing us at info@bottnerlaw.com or call us at 1-304-728-0158. Upon doing so, you will be able to learn all you need to know about your situation. The first meeting is one hundred eighty-five dollars ($185.00) and would last up to one hour; there is no further obligation to you at all. However, if you decide to retain me at the rate quoted during the consultation, the one hundred eighty-five dollar fee will be credited toward that cost.
F.Y.I. - You only have twenty (20) days from the date of your arrest to request a jury trial in Misdemeanor cases. If you do not request a jury trial within twenty (20) days, you will not be able to request one later. We always insist on having a jury trial for our clients. As a courtesy to you (and you have been accused of a misdemeanor), we have attached a Jury Trial Request form (Microsoft Word format) under each appropriate county. Upon completing and printing the form, send it to the Magistrate’s office to request your jury trial.
