 Local Resident Acquitted of Distributing Cocaine

Lorenzo Parson was charged with aiding and abetting the distribution of powered cocaine. The trial was held in the Berkeley County United States District Court on May 12th and 13th, 2009

Martinsburg, West Virginia 13, May, 2009 – Lorenzo Parson was indicted on March 18, 2009 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia with aiding and abetting the distribution of powered cocaine. The case was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and prosecuted by the Martinsburg Office of United States Attorney, Sharon Potter.

The trial convened on May 12th and was given to the jury that evening. After deliberating for approximately 3 hours a verdict of not guilty was returned on the morning of May 13, 2009. The defendant was represented by Charles Town attorney Kirk H. Bottner, Esquire; this being Mr. Bottner’s third federal trial victory within the past 15 months.
